Individual & Couples + Therapist

Hello sweet soul!

My name is Anna Davidson (she/her) & I am a cis-gender, queer Expressive Arts Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.

I am passionate about supporting individuals & couples+ gain more clarity around communication, needs, boundaries & intimacy. I am skilled in facilitating conversations, exercises, & interventions that encourage folks to access the root of their blockages around intimacy of all kinds. Through a relational & empathetic holding, clients can settle into a safe and non-judgmental space that allows them to open deeper than they have before while exploring communication, conflict, & connection styles.

My experience is expansive— through roles as a teacher, facilitator, artist & writer while living & learning in places worldwide. My practice is focused on guiding individuals & couples+ back to their most authentic & empowered selves by exploring our unprocessed depths & most intimate desires, all while practicing tools that support folks ability to facilitate their own healing.

For a look into some of my work, I invite you to click on this youtube link to a presentation I gave about the intersections of Expressive Arts, Queerness, and Intimacy!

I hold a Masters in Counseling Psychology with a Specialization in Expressive Arts, from California Institute of Integral Studies. I am currently a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (No. 126267) employed by Nes Pinar, LMFT #94911

Lens of liberation

I believe learning, growing, and healing are meant to be ever-evolving. I believe we all innately hold a deep inner compass that’s purpose is to lead us back to a source of expansive love & connection to all beings. I also feel passionately that therapy is meant to be a space offering folks the freedom & safety to explore liberating themselves from oppressive systems such as capitalism, racism, anti-Blackness, sexism, ableism, transphobia, xenophobia, & fat-phobia. Therefore, prioritizing this journey is deeply important to how I hold the therapeutic space. I make it a point to stay active in my own practice of dismantling these structures & white supremacy within myself while immersing myself in communities that prioritize this healing. As a queer woman myself, I am a fierce advocate of the LGBTQIA+ community & hold sacred space for working with clients holding those identities.

Somatic approach

My work centralizes the body as a major tool for our healing. By knowing how & when to guide my clients back into their bodies, I can offer them a deeper, more integrated experience to healing. This means that in the therapy space, we are allowing your body to take up space. We are allowing it to communicate openly to us & most importantly, we are attuning to what it's expressing, then implementing tools to clearly communicate back. Everything begins with learning how to trust our body.

Relational style

I believe that healing happens in relation-- whether to self, other, or the environment. Therefore, I prioritize creating a conscious relationship with my clients. It's important to me that every person I am in space with feels my authentic energy, love, (humor!) & care. I feel passionately about dismantling the Euro-centric approach to therapy that the client comes to a therapist for their "answers." I don't have your answers-- YOU have your answers, & it's my job to help guide you back to them.

“Working with Anna has been a transformative experience for me. Her empathetic and gentle approach created a safe space that allowed me to connect with my body in ways I never thought possible. Through her guidance, I've been able to unlock and process decades of trapped emotions, addressing the root causes that had kept me feeling stuck in life. Anna's slow and supportive method enabled me to delve into painful memories, providing a healing journey unlike any other. I am immensely grateful for the positive impact Anna has had on my journey, and I highly recommend her unique and effective style of therapy and coaching.”
